June 28, 2011 No Comments

There are fireworks in the sky this weekend, but don’t forget to take a look at the films profiled at the DFT!  Hitchcock’s classic tale of obsession “Vertigo” is screening on July 2 at 4pm…..James Stewart and Kim Novack together again on the BIG screen as they were meant to be…….does it make you dizzy?????

“Blank City” is a 2011 film directed by Celine Danhier captures the chaos and excitement of the 1970’s East Village through the lenses of the filmmakers(such as Jim Jarmusch) who came to define the era.  July 1 and 2 at 7pm and July 3 at 2pm(make it a double feature with Vertigo!)

If you need more, stay for the “from Britain with Love ” series on July 1 and 2 at 9:30pm for the screening of “In Our Name” the first British film to address war from the female soldier’s perspective……..

What a weekend!!!!!…..   by Jolyn Wagner
