The Reel Deal Goes to the 2012 Toronto Film Festival

September 3, 2012 No Comments

Join us in Toronto on Thursday, September 6 for the opening of the spectacular Toronto Film Festival!  If you can’t make it yourself this year, share  the excitement of screening movie after movie after movie (sigh!) online, as Dave and I resolve to see as many films as we possibly can and post our experiences in the “Must See Movie of the Week” site.  The TIFF website has already posted the full schedule, with brief descriptions of each film.  Check it out. Opening weekend  buzz seems to surround The Master (Paul Thomas Anderson’s film about Scientology), Amour (Michael Haeneke) Argo (Ben Affleck directs and stars), Frances Ha ( Noah Baumbach), Me and You (Bertolucci!), The Reluctant Fundamentalist (Mira Nair)–and my favorite, The Pervert’s Guide to Idealogy (Slavov Zizek’s followup to The Pervert’s Guide to Cinema).  However, there are many little gems that may never get distribution but are wonderful movies.  The only way to make seeing these films better is to add a Q and A by the director, and yes Toronto does that too!!!  Movie heaven.  Talk to you in Toronto!  Jolyn Wagner
